Dear Member,

A mask ordinance is again in effect for Monterey County and is triggered to be enforced starting Friday, November 5, by the Center for Disease Control "substantial" rates of COVID transmission. Please read the information below for guidance. Please stay alert for more information and updates.

Regardless of vaccination status, it will be required for all persons over the age of 2 to wear a face covering indoors. The Face Coverings FAQ by Monterey County below provides more information including exemptions. To quote County guidance: "This ordinance can be enforced by businesses, cities and the County. Those out of compliance may face administrative fines."

MCAR's COVID-19 Information and Resources page remains available for reference and to check for updates. As of November 4, because this is not a statewide mandate, CAR has not reinstated the Property Entry Advisory and Declaration (PEAD) form or property entry advisory pictogram.
