Dear Dublin community,
The Alameda County Public Health Department has provided us an update regarding the tragic passing of a Kolb Elementary student and we are sharing that update with the community to keep everyone as informed as possible.
The county public health department has determined that the student did not have a disease or condition that posed a health risk to Kolb students, staff or any other members of the community. Safety of our students and staff is always our No. 1 priority and we want to assure our community that there is no risk to our students in this situation. We appreciate the diligence and assistance of the Alameda County Public Health Department at this difficult time.
We offer our deepest condolences to the student's family and we are doing everything we can to support the students and staff at Kolb Elementary. Counseling services are available on site this week, and will be made available for as long as necessary to support the school community. Our obligation to the legally mandated privacy rights of the student's family precludes us from providing any more information than we have already shared.
Kolb principal Joyce Gibson wanted us to share gratitude for the outpouring of support for the school community at Kolb. We are lucky to be a part of such a caring community.
