Ven. Dhomang Gyatrul Rinpoche's Sea Burial will take place at Santa Cruz Harbor on May 30. Sangha members will gather at the dock at 6:30 am so that we may watch as the sacred kudung is brought onto the boat, which will leave at 7 am.
The sacred kudung will be carried by ship far out into the ocean. During that time the sangha will remain on shore to recite many prayers and practices. The ship will return sometime around 11:00 am, depending on ocean conditions, etc.
We will gather and practice together at the conference room at the Courtyard by Marriott in Santa Cruz. Please join the Sangha in prayers and practice, when we may mingle our minds with the great wisdom mind of the guru. Please RSVP below if you are planning to attend the practice so we can get an accurate head count. If you've already registered before, you will need to do so again.
There is a Sangha lunch being planned for around noon on the 30th after the sea burial so that we can all gather together in joyous memory of our Guru, to share our stories, and to continue forward as one sangha, just as Rinpoche would have wanted. More details about the lunch will be available at a later date.
We look forward to seeing you there on this extraordinary occasion!
