Updated Girl Scout Activity Guidelines Moving Into Fall
Dear Girl Scout Family,

I hope you are having a wonderful summer enjoying family time and continuing to stay healthy. Thank you for being a part of the Girl Scout family and supporting your girl's experience. I hope that you have enjoyed our FUN Summer Programs right along with her. Has she taken on the Outdoor Challenge patch? Maybe the Bubbles or Canning patch programs. We've got something out there for every girl and adult caregiver too. If you haven't tried out a program or two, there's still time... Summer at Home will stay live through mid-August.

We are excited that virtual program content will become a permanent enhancement to the Girl Scout experience. You and your Girl Scout can look forward to monthly virtual programs beginning in mid-August . This will complement her in person troop experience and allow you to connect with her in the Girl Scout program experience.

We know you have anxiously awaited guidance for your Girl Scout experience as we roll into the new school year.

We understand that each Girl Scout family determines what is right for their girl(s). We remain committed to providing multiple options for how girls can continue their journey in Girl Scouts.

You can anticipate Troop Leaders continuing to connect with families to determine engagement levels as activities are being planned.

Resuming Troop In-Person Activities

We know that many of our troops are ready to resume in-person activities. Effective August 4th , in-person Girl Scout troop activities will be permitted following your local and state guidance, including the requirement of mask-wearing and social distancing. Girl Scouts will continue to monitor local, state and federal guidelines and safety protocols as safety is the highest priority. Expect our council to be agile and modify these recommendations as conditions and regulations shift for our area.

Troop Resources

Watch for our Girl Scout Safety Amid COVID-19 web page that will launch on Friday, July 24th. There, you will find suggestions on meeting space, troop activities and safety reminders that you may find helpful as you plan for the new Girl Scout year amid COVID-19.

Beginning the week of August 10th, shopping appointments can be scheduled for the GSKSMO Shop. We will also continue FREE SHIPPING through at least the end of September. Watch for details on signing up for a shopping appointment beginning August 3rd.

Outdoor Program & Properties

We are also excited to share that our camp properties will continue family reservations at all age/program levels and troop camping for Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassadors will be available beginning August 14th. We are also planning to offer most of our adventure programs for fall. More details on programming and reservations will be available in early August.

The GSKSMO staff will continue to work remotely serving our volunteers and families.

We thank you for your patience as we navigate this current COVID-reality together.

Yours in Girl Scouting,
