Enews updates
Please note there will be no student eNews on June 16 or June 30. The student eNews returns on Wednesday, July 14 with updates related to the course selection period. Please save the dates - Monday, August 9 to Monday, August 16 - for the course selection period and stay tuned for more information in July.

Fall term planning
Queen's is planning for a resumption of in-person activity in September. We anticipate a return to full in-person, on-campus instruction in the fall of 2021. We are supported in this plan by advice from KFL&A Public Health and other health professionals, who have indicated that a return to in-person instruction can be done safely this fall based on the progress of the vaccine roll-out and the expected lifting of restrictions. The Faculty of Arts and Science is participating in this planning process, as well as planning for the eventuality that some of our students may not be able to travel to Kingston this fall or may wish to study remotely. If you do not travel to Kingston, you will still have access to courses; however, the number of courses that will be delivered remotely will be limited and your choices will be fewer for course selection. We will be posting the limited list of courses that will be available for remote delivery in late June or early July, and will inform you via our eNews when they are posted.
Based on this planning, we suggest that you make every effort to return to campus this fall, including securing housing and making travel arrangements as appropriate to your personal situation. We look forward to welcoming you back to Queen's this fall.

Academic consideration updates
The Academic Consideration team has created Resource Guides to support you in submitting requests through the Academic Consideration Request Portal. These guides are divided by request type and include step-by-step instructions with screenshots. Late plan change
If you wish to request a change to your Program/Plan you must submit a request here between Monday, June 7 and Friday, July 30. If your request is approved, your Program/Plan will be changed and you will be notified via your @queensu.ca email account. Learn more on our change of plan website.

A cademic standing webinar
If you received a letter via SOLUS on Wednesday, May 26 about your current academic standing and you have questions or concerns, please join us on Thursday, June 3 at 3 pm for an Info & Options Webinar. We will explain what these letters mean, review the options available to students and provide some information on resources available for help. Webinar participants will not appear on screen and questions can be typed in the Q&A anonymously for privacy.

Learn by doing with a paid internship
Do you have a knack for writing? Are you a strong communicator? Deloitte is looking for a Grants and Incentive Writer, Intern for September 2021. Plan, organize and execute engagements, research, and share knowledge while leveraging a diverse and powerful network at Deloitte. Register for QUIP and apply today! This position is 12-16 months, paid and full-time. Applications close Sunday, June 6.
To learn more about the Queen's University Internship Program (QUIP) and what the experience could bring to your degree, register in MyCareer for an upcoming information session, geared specifically for Arts and Science students on Tuesday, June 8 from 5:30 to 6:30 pm EST. You'll have the opportunity to hear from interns on their experiences and have your questions answered.

Join 17 Rooms at Queen's
The 17 Rooms event at Queen's is a fast-paced, brainstorming workshop and approach to generating awareness of and action on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It is designed to bring together people interested in making a difference into 17 small groups, each tasked with generating ideas and knowledge to make progress towards a particular SDG. For Queen's first 17 Rooms event will be hosted virtually through Zoom with staff, faculty and students joining together to create ideas and discuss how to advance the SDGs at Queen's.
The goal is to generate excitement and awareness of the SDGs, increase collaboration and ultimately find new ways to make a global impact across the university. It's exciting, energizing and will help create synergy in our explorations of the SDGs at Queen's.
Registration is open and we still have space for participants. The event's success depends on participation from a diverse group of staff, faculty and students who can lend their knowledge and expertise to one of the 17 Rooms in the half-day scheduled for Monday, June 21.
Registration deadline is Thursday, June 10.
