ENEWS for April 19, 2016
From the Pastor's Pen..

This past Sunday God really challenged us through His Word to look at our faith. As I said Sunday, our faith is to have movement to it. We looked at the mystery of our faith how we live with dependence upon God, and finally we celebrated the might of our faith as we see it only takes the faith of the mustard seed for God to do amazing things through His People. (Mark 4:21-34) I pray you your faith has been strengthened by the teaching of His Word this week. Sunday night we were challenged by the next generation to place our faith and trust in Jesus and to life a life full of faith, hope, and love. If you missed either of these, they are available through our LiveStream on our website.

Sunday also marked a new beginning for our church as our personnel team has unanimously recommended the hiring of Dr. Zach Zettler as our new Equipping Pastor. You can read his bio on our Facebook page or pick up a copy in the office. I hope you will celebrate with us as we seek to impact the Kingdom through Dr. Zettler coming on board. If you are wondering why we changed the title Associate Pastor of Education, it is a better fit for all that he will bring to our church family. He will oversee the equipping of our church family in three primary areas. Through helping people understand and embrace membership, through helping grow through spiritual maturity, and challenging our faith family through a comprehensive approach to missions both local and global. In a nutshell Zach will lead First Baptist Church Biloxi in equipping through membership, maturity, and missions. You will have a chance to ask questions to our personnel team on Sunday night during our monthly business meeting. Then on May 1, we will hear Dr. Zettler share his testimony in the morning worship service and we will have the opportunity to affirm the personnel teams work through a vote of affirmation.

One last thing, Sunday night is also our Starting Point Membership Summit. We are inviting all of our new members and people who are praying through joining our faith family to come and hear about what we believe as a church, what are the belong statements that define us, and how you can become a part of our faith family. If you are interested in coming (even if you have been a member for a while) please sign up on our website by clicking here. We will provide dinner for your family and also childcare if needed.  I am so excited to see what God is doing through His People here at First Baptist.

The church isn't the building, it's A People! Invite someone to join you on your spiritual journey!
