Chelan Property Update

The Chelan property discernment continues. Through conversation and extensive input from the congregation, the decision has boiled down to two options:

  • - Sell the property outright.

  • - Divide the parcel, sell half and develop the other half for use in keeping with the fellowship’s mission.

A congregational town hall was held on February 9th where the two options were explained, and a straw poll was taken, which favored selling the parcel outright.

The final vote of the congregation will be held by electronic ballot shard via email available on or just before the annual meeting (exact dates TBD). If you have questions and/or comments about the process and the upcoming vote please send them to: president@boiseuu.org

  1. You can also join Board members for an informal Q & A
  2. (about any topic of your choice) during hospitality time on
  3. Sunday, April 20th in the entryway outside the hospitality room.

Long -Range Strategic Planning

The board is also in the process of forming a Strategic Planning Task Force with a focus on a long-range financial management framework. We would like this framework to help us:

  • - create a process of on-going investigation into how our assets and investments align with the above values.

  • - investigate and respond to changing demographics within our congregation and society at large as it relates to peoples’ moral imaginations and spiritual yearnings.

  • - guide the use of our resources to sustain our fellowship and to fund creative initiatives that restore and repair our communities.

We are developing an application process for those who wish to serve on this task force. We encourage you to apply and want folks with a variety of skills and perspectives (specific financial expertise not required). The application will be ready by the Annual Meeting. If you want to be on the cutting edge of determining the fellowship’s future, this is a great way to participate!.

Serene Sanctuary Renovation

May 18th will be our last Sunday in the current Sanctuary, marking the beginning of our Serene Sanctuary renovation project, thanks to your generous gifts to our Capital Campaign. Sunday services will relocate to the north wing beginning May 25th, to allow construction to begin. We hope to have the project completed by early September of this year in time to begin a new program year together with our Annual Water Communion service.

Annual Giving Drive

The Annual Giving Drive (AGD) is here! Starting with the kickoff on April 6th, followed by a Community Potluck & Conversation and concluding with Celebration Sunday on April 27th followed by a party in the courtyard. The theme is “There’s No Place Like Home”. The funds raised by our AGD are what keeps the lights on, so to speak. This is how we fund our operating budget, staff salaries, programs, building and grounds maintenance. It is truly a case of getting back what you put in. We have beautiful grounds as well as a very hard-working and conscientious staff deserving of whatever care and love we can give them. There will also be food, fun and fellowship for the whole family.
