This bulletin will deliver current news that affects your businesses while the COVID-19 restrictions remain in place and list valuable resources you may need to navigate this unsettled economic landscape.  
Free fresh produce and groceries for families impacted by Coronavirus will be available on Tuesday, April 14 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Hatch 1121 building, 1121 Lucerne Ave., but the entrance to the pick-up service is on Lake Avenue only. Anyone who needs help with putting food on the table during this time is most welcome. Supplies are limited, and you must be in an automobile. Volunteers are asked to register with the CRA prior to the event due to Coronavirus requirements.

At a time when many families are worried about paying their rent, Florida Governor DeSantis has issued a moratorium on foreclosures and evictions for the next 45 days. Missed rent payments may still be due at some point in the future. Talk to your landlord and try to work out a reasonable solution.

A wide range of housing activities have been deemed “essential,” including housing construction, workers responsible for leasing, property management and maintenance workers, and workers who generally support the construction of housing through inspections, permitting, and plan review services.

The Health Care District of Palm Beach County has opened another drive-through testing site at the South County Civic Center in Delray Beach. Testing is available by appointment only. If you need a test, the number to call is 561-642-1000.

Florida Department of Economic Opportunity: 
 The DOE has now added additional servers to handle the high volume of online traffic for unemployment applications. Additionally, it has started accepting paper applications, and has eased the requirements for applicants. Get details here:

Small businesses have a wide-range of support available through the Federal CARES act. Here is a list of programs and how to qualify:

Business owner are encouraged to apply quickly for the Small Business Paycheck Protection Program. You will need your completed 2019 tax filing, and you should be applying with the bank where you have an active business checking account.

This new program provides relief for borrowers experiencing a financial hardship impacting their ability to make on-time mortgage payments due to the COVID-19 national emergency.

Children’s Services Council of Palm Beach County has created a $500,000 Coronavirus Relief and Recovery Grant to assist non-profit organizations in Palm Beach and Martin counties impacted by Coronavirus. Get the details here:

Lake Worth Beach loves its art, and what better way to spend a few extra minutes (or hours) indulging yourself than a free virtual tour at the most-loved museums around the world, including The Louvre, The Guggenheim, and The Van Gogh Museum among others. Check this list to start your virtual visit.

Palm Beach County Schools: 
Free “Grab and Go” meals for anyone under 18, or 22 for ESE students. Students must be present to receive the meal.

Agencies offering meal assistance in the City of Lake Worth Beach and
surrounding areas. 
United States Small Business Administration:
The SBA offers low rate, long-term, loan assistance for businesses, private non-profits, homeowners and renters affected by disasters. It is activating loans to businesses impacted by the COVID 19 virus. Business are encouraged to apply early
as funds are limited.

For loans to help cover operational expenses other than payroll, business owners can apply directly through the SBA.  


State of Florida: 
The Florida Small Business Emergency Bridge Loan Program is currently providing loans up to $50,000 to small businesses located in Florida that experienced economic damage as a result of COVID-19.


Florida Atlantic University Small Business Development Center:
The SBDC provide no-cost consulting to help businesses access state and federal disaster recovery loans and additional business continuity services.

City of Lake Worth Beach Utilities :
In response to the impacts of the Coronavirus Pandemic, the City of Lake Worth Beach is suspending utility disconnections through April 30. More information is available at the following link.


Utility bills can be paid online, by mail instead of going to Lake Worth Beach offices
to pay in person. 
City of Lake Worth Beach Building Division: 
The Building Division has updated information on permits and inspections.
Refuse Collection:
All City Garbage and Recycling collection services will continue on the regular schedule. Click the link below for information on your scheduled collection days.


Beach Closed:
The City of Lake Worth Beach has closed public access to the Lake Worth Beach Pier and the beachfront, and limited access to the beach park. Beach park access will only be provided to facilitate pick up orders from Benny's, Mulligans, Kilwins, and Mama Mias. 
There will be no parking at the beach except for City employees, employees of the aforementioned restaurants, and janitorial services. Customers collecting orders will be provided limited temporary parking and are encouraged to remain in their vehicle and contact the restaurant to have the order brought out.
