PALM BEACH COUNTY CARES FOR BUSINESS
(Restart Business Grants)



The Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners approved the Restart Business Grants Program on May 15, 2020 to accelerate the reopening businesses hardest hit by COVID-19.   The $60 million Business Restart Program uses a portion of the County’s $261 million allocation from the Federal CARES Act approved by Congress. The BCC has dedicated $50 million toward businesses with 25 or fewer employees and $10 million towards businesses with greater than 25 employees.

  • Business has been operating since October 1, 2019 and was still operating on February 29, 2020
  • Business is located in Palm Beach County
  • Business is not a publicly traded company
  • Business is not a non-profit organization
  • Business does not exceed $3 million in total gross receipts or sales
  • Businesses with 25 or less employees and total gross receipts or sales of $3-5M will be funded from the $10M allocation

Interested businesses are encouraged to prepare for the Restart Program Application as they will be processed on a first come, first eligible basis. The deadline to apply is June 12, 2020.

PALM BEACH COUNTY YOUTH SERVICES
Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) 
Palm Beach County Youth Services Department's Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) will transition from pre-summer feeding at eight locations to the full Summer Food Service Program feeding schedule. Beginning June 1, 43 sites throughout the county, including 16 Palm Beach County Library locations, will serve as meal distribution sites with additional sites added weekly.

The SFSP provides meals and snacks to eligible children age 18 and under during the summer months (June through August) and in times of emergency. Meals and snacks are also available to persons with disabilities, over age 18, who participate in school programs for people who are mentally or physically disabled. Youth Services administers and monitors this program, funded by USDA and the Department of Education. Sites are located throughout Palm Beach County in low-income neighborhoods.
EMERGENCY GRANT PROGRAM TO SUPPORT BARS & RESTAURANTS

In an effort to help stabilize local bars and restaurants within the CRA District due to effects from COVID-19, the CRA has implemented a Quick Action Emergency grant program. We recognize that our small, local businesses are struggling to keep employees and must work around increasingly restrictive requirements. This limited program will assist for- profit restaurants and bars with 3-20 full-time employees. Businesses can apply online for up to $2,500 (in $500 increments) in working capital grants.

EXTENDS DEADLINE FOR REDEVELOPMENT PROPOSALS

Due to the impact of Coronavirus, the Lake Worth Beach CRA has extended the filing deadline for the following RFP's:
RPF #01-1920 , which is to solicit proposals for the development of a vacant, CRA-owned parcel on North Dixie Highway, between 17th and 18th Avenue North. The original deadline of May 5 has been pushed back to June 23 at 3 p.m. More info here:


RFP #02-1920 , which is to solicit proposals for the development of three vacant sites located in Downtown Lake Worth Beach. The new deadline to submit is August 4th.
