SATURDAY 9/10
CECCS is hosting the annual All Abilities carnival and resource fair! 35 booths full of resources to support children of all abilities. Activities include: a bounce house, face painting, balloon twisting, a food truck, games & much more!
All proceeds go to Autism Vision of Colorado.

If you are an on-campus high school student and you did NOT fill out the career day survey on August 31st, you may stop by the advising dept to complete the form by end of day Tuesday, Sept 6th.

CONSTITUTION DAY POSTER CONTEST
- Your poster can feature any aspect of the Constitution, including the Bill of Rights and Amendments

Use an 8-1/2” x 11” paper to create your design and turn in with this completed FORM to the front office of the middle school or high school by Monday, September 12 (printed copies of the form are available at the front desk)

As a school and network, all CECCS staff have completed the CliftonStrengths assessment. High School students who have taken College and Career Readiness have also taken the assessment to learn their top 5 strengths.

Graduating Seniors: Planning to apply to an armed forces academy?
The deadline for application for a nomination to a U.S. armed forces academy (U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Coast Guard Academy, U.S. Military Academy-West Point, and the U.S. Naval Academy) is October 15, 2022.
This is done through Colorado's U.S. Senators' and Front Range U.S. Representatives' offices. The service academies are federal institutions that provide an undergraduate education and train future commissioned officers for service in the United States Armed Forces. Applying to a Military Service Academy is a rigorous, highly-competitive, and lengthy process only for the most determined and qualified candidates.

Accessing Spring PSAT and SAT Scores
Students can view their April PSAT or SAT score report on the College Board Score Report page. If they have never created a College Board account, refer to these Create Account Instructions.
If they created a College Board account in the past, but forgot their log in, do not create a second account. Instead, if they have any difficulty creating an account, accessing their account, or viewing their score results, call College Board for support at 1-866-315-6068. Please see Mrs. Musselman or Mrs. McCrory if you need additional support.
Did you know most merit scholarships are partially based on SAT scores? If you’d like to improve your PSAT 9 or PSAT 10 score, you can link your College Board and Khan Academy Accounts and get individualized Official SAT Practice. Find out how to link your accounts HERE. Studies show that students can increase their SAT score up to 100 points using a linked Khan Academy account!

PSAT/NMSQT Exam Opportunity
CECCS will offer an optional fall administration of the PSAT/NMSQT for 10th and 11th grade students on Wednesday, October 12th. The PSAT/NMSQT is designed to help prepare students for the SAT. Historically, students who take the PSAT/NMSQT score higher on the SAT than those who don’t AND 11th grade students who take the PSAT/NMSQT may meet requirements to enter the National Merit Scholarship Program.
The fee to take the exam is $18 and will be added to your Infinite Campus account. Note: The fee will be waived for students who qualify for free/reduced lunch.

9th Grade Advising/ICAP Opens 9/12-9/22
Advisors meet with students during grade level windows. Invitations to schedule appointments were emailed to 9th graders today!
9th grade students should schedule an appointment during a free period if possible, if not then during an elective course. Students should avoid scheduling during a college class.
These advising appointments are REQUIRED to plan for future goals and spring semester classes.

¡CECCS está organizando el carnaval anual de All Abilities y la feria de recursos! Habrá 50 puestos llenos de recursos para apoyar a los niños de todas las capacidades. Los estudiantes de College BRIDGE (en el campus) preocupados de que no aprueben satisfactoriamente su(s) curso(s) universitario(s) de otoño, tienen la opción de abandonar el curso sin penalización por calificación o expediente académico.
