Dear Parents and Guardians:

The Springfield-Greene County Health Department has confirmed that an employee at Rountree Elementary recently tested positive for COVID-19. Within 3 days, the Health Department will directly contact any individual it determines may be at risk of exposure as part of its contact tracing process.

Rountree Closure
  • As a precaution, the Health Department has advised that Rountree Explore students and staff quarantine at home through July 24. In the coming days, Health Department staff will provide additional information based on its contact tracing.
  • In addition, the Rountree building will be closed until Monday, July 27. However, virtual instruction will be offered for Rountree Explore students

Virtual Instruction

  • Online Explore curriculum will be provided for students in grades K-5; there will be no virtual instruction for kindergarten students or for physical education and creativity courses.
  • Teachers will contact families with details about how to resume learning online Friday, July 17. 
Reminders
  • We are working in collaboration with the Health Department, which is the lead agency in responding to reported cases of COVID-19, and following its guidance.
  • If the Health Department determines that your child may have been in close contact with the individual, the Health Department will contact you directly within three days.
  • Please monitor your child for symptoms of COVID-19 for the next 14 days in isolation.
  • Explore classes at Rountree will resume on Monday, July 27.
