Update: Certification Health and Safety Training
Last year, these modules replaced
Health and Safety Basics: Requirements for Certification
:
- Get Started with Center-based Care: Building Blocks for Quality (K6.2, C1, CDA6; 10 hours)
- Get Started with Home-based Care: Building Blocks for Quality (K6.2, C1, CDA1; 10 hours)
As of July 1, 2019, the
Health and Safety Basics: Requirements for Certification
course will no longer be an option. Instead, all new child care professionals will need to chose one of the two listed options above.
Completion of one of these two modules is required for all new child care professionals (center/group and home-based) in Pennsylvania. Although an existing staff person may count the professional development (PD) towards their annual hours of PD, an individual who takes the course for the purpose of obtaining a certificate of compliance may not use the hours to count towards their PD.
The amount of professional development has increased from six hours to ten hours and is available online only.
There is no charge to complete the modules.
