Testing
We will continue to monitor the conditions locally, but wanted to share our current plans; if things change, we will update you as quickly as possible. As with the fall semester, there will be mandatory testing for all students after your arrival in Cleveland and before your main CIM building/practice room privileges are granted. Testing will be conducted by appointment, typically from 4-6pm.
  • Testing is planned for January 4, 5, 8, 11, 14, 15, 16, 17, 19, 21 and 23.
  • Additional testing appointments can be arranged for students returning after January 23.
  • Note that some of these dates are different from those announced on September 21. Dates and times are subject to change.

To help our testing partner plan, please fill out this form to let us know the earliest date you plan to be in Cleveland for testing. Then, when the test location and times are confirmed, Dean Gilson will send you an email with that information and a link to actually schedule your test. If you have questions about testing, please contact him directly at david.gilson@cim.edu.

Please note: the FAQ pages in the Return to Campus have not yet been updated with this information; that will happen in the first week of January.

Preparations for return
We encourage you to relax and enjoy some time away from your studies. We expect the spring semester will be equally challenging compared to fall, but are confident that, together, we can keep the music playing through May.

Please consider reducing your social circle in the two weeks leading up to your planned return to Cleveland; this is an important step you can take to help the CIM community as we come back together.

At this time, we expect the same safety protocols to be in place, but if that changes due to local conditions, we will update you as quickly as possible so you can plan.

Finally, a reminder that the main building will close at 10pm on December 13 and remain closed through January 3, 2020. Practice rooms at 1609 Hazel are open only to students who registered in advance. The administrative staff will be on holiday break during this time, so while we welcome your questions, replies may be delayed.

Best wishes to you for holiday season, and we can’t wait to see you again in January!
