We wanted to share some news with you regarding the continued closure of Bouquet Canyon Road to our north as well as circumstances involving the landlords and property management at our location.
This restaurant has always been more than just a business to us. For 35 years it has been a place where friendships were made, families gathered, celebrations happened and memories were created. We’ve been through a lot together—earthquakes, fires, lockdowns, masks, and of course tragedies including the murders of the sweet souls at Saugus High School. We have supported just about every team, school, band, and other organization in this community and have loved every minute of it.
The owners and property management in this center do not reside in the area and in fact weren’t aware of the road closure until we notified them. We have been negotiating with them for quite some time and just over a week ago we believed we had come to an agreement. Unfortunately, just a few hours later we were informed by email that they had changed their minds about their offer. Although we still have hope that we will be able to come to an agreement we have begun to look for an alternative space. This is the last thing we want to do because we don’t want to inconvenience our customers or go through the expense and labor of moving the location we have been at for 20 years. For those of you who go all the way back with us, we were across the street prior to that.
The other difficulty we face is the decision by the City of Santa Clarita to allow Lennar Homes to build multiple homes to our north and completely close Bouquet Canyon Road. As business owners, we were never asked for input on how the closure would impact any of us in this center or in the center to our north. We simply received a notice that the road would be closed. At first, we were not overly concerned with the closure but were unaware that the city would also close Benz Road therefore allowing no access for customers to reach us from the north unless traveling all the way to Haskell. This has created a huge problem for our customers, including those who live in Agua Dulce, Acton and beyond.
We are facing a few challenges in the next few weeks and will keep you updated about our possible move and future plans as soon as we are able. Thank you for standing by us and making our family owned restaurant part of your lives. We are one of the few remaining family owned restaurants left in the Santa Clarita Valley.
We sincerely appreciate your support and would greatly appreciate your prayers as we navigate the future. If you would like more information or questions answered, please email us at leann@vincenzospizzasaugus.com
