Free tuition program
Are you a first-time college student? You may qualify for two years of free tuition under the First-time + Full-time = Free Tuition (FT3) program. Learn more at www.dvc.edu/ft3.
Emergency grants are available for summer
Emergency grants of $1000 are available to students enrolled for summer! If you are enrolled and have any emergency expenses related to COVID-19 or your cost of attendance, you can submit a request for financial assistance. Learn more at COVID-19 Emergency Grants.
Apply for financial aid
Are you enrolled in courses for the fall? You may qualify for financial aid (grants, fee waivers, student loans, etc.) to help you pay for your classes. Make sure you complete your 2021-22 financial aid applications to be considered. For more information, visit DVC Financial Aid.
Are you eligible for the CalEITC?
California Earned Income Tax Credit (CalEITC) and the Young Child Tax Credit (YCTC) are state tax credits for working Californians. If you qualify, you can impact your family’s health and success. Text EITC to 47177 or visit https://www.caleitc4me.org to find out.
SparkPoint
Do you need financial coaching? SparkPoint Contra Costa-DVC is here to assist you! SparkPoint offers individualized services that will help you to increase your income, manage credit, and build assets. All services are free to students. We offer individual services, financial coaching, credit coaching, and legal services. Learn more about SparkPoint.
EOPS is accepting new students for fall
Extended Opportunity Programs and Services (EOPS) is accepting applications for new students. Eligible students receive money to purchase textbooks from the DVC bookstore, the earliest priority registration date for future terms, UC/CSU application fee waivers, free school supplies, and more! Fresh Success
Fresh Success is currently accepting students for the fall term. Fresh Success focuses on helping you meet your educational goals by understanding your needs and offering a wide range of support.
Support includes:
- individual coaching and support,
- textbook and supply assistance, and
- monthly allowance of remote learning expenses.
To be eligible, you must reside in Contra Costa County; be enrolled in at least one CE, ESL, or basic skills course; be enrolled in or eligible for CalFresh, but NOT enrolled in CalWORKS.

Summer virtual wellness appointments
DVC Counseling is offering virtual summer wellness appointments. Students may meet with a member of the DVC Wellness Team over the summer for up to 10 free virtual sessions. To schedule an appointment, fill out the referral form. Learn more at Wellness and Mental Health Resources.
TimelyMD
DVC is excited to offer a new telehealth program for students this spring. This FREE service provides access to 24/7 medical and mental telehealth care with TimelyMD. The TimelyMD telehealth Initiative is offered for one year by ASDVC in collaboration with Diablo Valley College. Learn more!
Need some relaxation this summer?
FREE guided meditation and yoga are offered Tuesdays and Thursdays this summer at 12pm through TimelyMD.
Curious about guided meditation for relaxation, or interested in improving your yoga practice this summer? Join TimelyMD every Tuesday at 12pm for guided meditation and Thursday at 12pm for yoga this summer.
Guided meditation (Yoga Nidra) promotes ways to de-stress, relax and practice mindfulness. Yoga sessions are 45-minutes and include breathing techniques, postural alignment, and how to be more present to your mind, body, and spirit.

PUMA STEM Scholars Project
Could you use a three-year scholarship of up to $4300 dollars each year? After DVC, do you intend to transfer as a science, math, or engineering major? Do you still need to take General Chemistry I and Precalculus? If the answer to all of those questions is Yes, the PUMA STEM Scholars project could be great for you!
The PUMA STEM Scholars project is DVC's newest learning community. Starting in fall 2021, the PUMA STEM Scholars Project will welcome scholars into a collaborative, transformational learning experience designed to give aspiring scientists and engineers at our college a firm foundation in their science or engineering major to support their successful transfer to a four-year institution. Student Life Summer Workshop Series
Student Life Summer Workshop Series: Club Leadership Skills Academy begins in July! All students and current club members/officers are invited to these workshops to gain or enhance leadership skills. Come and learn:
- the requirements on how to start a DVC student club,
- how to renew your existing club for the fall,
- how to navigate DVCsync ENGAGE like a pro, and
- the duties of club officer positions and how the club executive officers manage club operations.
Each session will be tailored to the specific needs of the attendees. Attend one or more sessions or attend them all! Presented on the following Thursdays from 1 to 2pm:
