WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS?
COVID-19 presents a wide variety of symptoms so it is important to be familiar with the different reported symptoms ranging from mild to severe. Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus and are explained in this COVID-19 Symptoms Chart. Keep in mind that these symptoms should be outside of an individual’s baseline to be considered COVID-related. Any individual experiencing COVID-like symptoms should stay home from school and contact Anne Regan, the school nurse.
WHAT SHOULD I DO NEXT?
It is important for everyone in the Worcester Prep community to work together to keep our students, faculty and staff safe and healthy. Knowing what to do if you are feeling ill or exposed to someone with COVID-19 is crucial to achieving this goal. Please review this IF/THEN chart which outlines the protocol to use in the event you are ill or exposed to the virus.

It is very important to notify the school of a positive test result as soon as possible. Simply email the school nurse to report the result, this should be done the day the positive result is received.

HOW ELSE CAN I HELP?
In addition to knowing what to do if you think you may have contracted the virus, it is important to understand how you can minimize the risk of infection through prevention. By following these simple guidelines, you are keeping yourself, your family and everyone around you safe from COVID-19:

  • Wear a facial coverings and maintain a distance of 6' when interacting with individuals outside of your immediate family

  • Wash your hands often and use hand sanitizer between hand washings...also avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth as much as possible

  • Try to avoid social gatherings with other Worcester Prep families to reduce close contact exposure in the event of a positive case
