I used to think deadlines

were exciting!

As a young adult I worked in the editorial offices of American Baptist Churches. I didn't understand why my co-workers got stressed over the constant deadlines they faced. For me, deadlines were exciting and energizing. As I've grown up, I've come to HATE deadlines. And I hate imposing deadlines on others, but they are necessary. So . . .

Non-Negotiable Deadlines

NOW . . .

Contest deadline

Announcing the 2023 Write His Answer writing contest!

This is not just any contest. Open only to registered conferees, contestants are challenged to prayerfully explore our conference theme, “Write His Answer” (from Habakkuk 2:2 TLB).

In prose entries of 500-800 words or poetry entries of 12-30 lines, share how God is calling you to “write His answer.” Poetry and prose by published and not-yet-published writers will be judged in separate categories.

The $10 entry fee for each submission needs to be mailed to Write His Answer Contest, 951 Anders Road, Lansdale, PA 19446. Make your check payable to GPCWC.

Email your entries as an attachment to Debbie Hardy at dahardy6600@gmail.com no later than August 7. In the subject line of your email put "WHAC Contest." Do not put your name and address on your manuscript(s). Note on your manuscript whether you are published or not-yet-published.

The first-place winner in each of the four categories will be announced at the conference and will receive a certificate suitable for framing!

Contest entry fees help support future Write His Answer conference scholarships.

We’re excited to see how God is calling you to write His answer!

Let's face it, we've all been on Zoom for a while now, but somehow, when you pull up Gallery View and see your image next to all those other people, for some reason they always look better than you? Brighter, or Sharper, or with a more interesting or less distracting background? If an agent is talking to you at the conference and someone else that looks like a news anchor, well, which one do YOU think they're going to want to work with? Come join Eric Sprinkle, long-time Zoom MC of the WHA conferences as he shares all the Tips and Tricks you need to look your best and catch the eye of that agent or editor at this year's Live Virtual event.
