Debbie joined Intact in 2005 to lead the Ontario Division. She was instrumental in acquisitions and key strategic initiatives to improve the broker experience. In 2018, Debbie was appointed Executive Vice President of Intact Insurance with responsibility for Atlantic, Ontario and Western Canada. During this time, Debbie has continued to build the value proposition for brokers as we worked together to bring second to none service to customers.

Debbie lives our values every day in her interactions with brokers, people across the industry and at Intact. She has given her time over the years to mentor many women in the insurance industry and she currently sits on the Board of the Institute for Catastrophic Loss Reduction (ICLR) on behalf of Intact. She is also active in her community, helping those that are less fortunate through a variety of organizations.

When I asked her about her retirement plans, Debbie said, “I’ll be perfecting my skiing technique, sharpening my yogi skills, and aspiring to become a much better tennis player.” For those who know Debbie well, you will not be surprised to hear that she told me, “I will most definitely not be spending time working on my golf skills!”

With her love of travel, Debbie will continue crossing off those special places on the family bucket list, which of course also includes spending more time with her family. She also plans to spend time volunteering, coaching, and mentoring as well as contributing on a few boards.

We are currently working on how best to replace Debbie and will share more information later this fall.
