NOVEMBER
from your Library
| | Marlboro Free Library Renovation and Expansion Update | | Exciting progress continues at the Marlboro Free Library! As part of our Renovation and Expansion Project to create a more welcoming and versatile community space, construction on our new community room is well underway. However, due to unexpected shipping delays for essential building materials, our project timeline needs to adjust to ensure we remain on track and within budget. To keep the project moving efficiently, interior renovations will now begin sooner than originally planned. | |
To prepare, the Marlboro Free Library will be closed to the public from Tuesday, November 4 through Tuesday, November 11. During this time, staff will be packing up our collection and setting up an Express Service Library in our current children’s section.
Monday, November 3 will be the last day to browse our full collection until the construction project is complete.
| |
We will reopen on Wednesday, November 12, offering a selection of limited services from our Express Service Library, including:
- Hold pickups
- Returns
- Browsing and borrowing of new books and select popular materials
- Printing, faxing, and scanning
Notary and passport services will be temporarily paused starting November 4 and will resume in late November. Hold deliveries will also be paused during our closure (November 4–11). Returns during our closure can be placed in our book drop located near the Library’s front entrance.
While our express service is open, patrons will not have access to the main library floor, the full collection, study/tutor spaces, children’s play area, local history section, or long-term computer use. Limited computer access will be available.
Library programs will continue offsite during construction. Please check our website, e-calendar, and social media for program locations and updates.
| |
Beginning Monday, November 17, the Library will operate under temporary modified hours to accommodate construction:
- Monday–Thursday: 12:30–8:00 PM
- Friday: 12:30–5:00 PM
- Saturday: 11:00 AM–5:00 PM
- Sunday: 1:00–5:00 PM
These hours are subject to change as work progresses. Please check our website or call us at 845-236-7272 before visiting for the most up-to-date hours, open dates, and information.
| |
The Library’s interior renovations will continue through Spring 2026, and construction noise will be noticeable while work is underway.
Don’t forget! You can continue to access eBooks, audiobooks, magazines, and streaming services 24/7 through Libby, Hoopla, and Kanopy with your Marlboro Free Library card.
Your Marlboro Free Library card can also be used at any of the 66 libraries in the Mid-Hudson Library System. Items can be placed on hold from another library and delivered to the Marlboro Free Library, free of charge. Our neighboring libraries in Highland and Milton are also available for your convenience.
We’re so grateful for your patience and flexibility as we take this exciting next step in transforming our Library. These improvements will create a more welcoming and functional space for our entire community, and we can’t wait to share the finished result with you in 2026!
