HealthWest Board selects new executive director

The HealthWest Board of Directors voted Friday, May 19, to select Rich Francisco as the next HealthWest executive director. He will be joining our team on Monday, June 5.

Rich will join the HealthWest team after serving as the deputy director of Ottawa County Community Mental Health.

This selection was made following an extensive interview process, including representatives from the County Board of Commissioners and our Board of Directors. Rich’s passion for the individuals we serve, his knowledge of our region and his understanding of the state’s behavioral health system stood out to interviewers.

Please contact Cyndi Blair if you have any questions about this transition.

REMINDER: HealthWest will be closed Monday, May 29, in observance of Memorial Day.

Don't miss the FunD Luncheon

Wednesday, May 24

You are all invited to participate in the FunD Committee’s walking taco luncheon! On Wednesday, May 24, from 11:30 am to 1 pm, the committee will have everything you need to make your own walking taco. Stop by the MHC lunchroom to pick up your lunch.

Do you work outside of MHC? Get together with your coworkers to place an order by emailing Gordon Peterman. Your order will be ready for pickup on the day of the luncheon.

There is no firm cost to participate in the lunch, but donations are certainly appreciated to support the FunD Committee.

Artists who identify as a person with a developmental disability are invited to submit their artwork to celebrate their pride through art during Disability Pride Month. Their artwork will be displayed online throughout July and select pieces will be displayed in an art exhibition on July 11 in Lansing.

STAFF ENGAGEMENT AND SATISFACTION SURVEY

In September 2020 the world was facing what we considered a new normal, which set HealthWest on a journey to check in with staff. We wanted to learn more about staff experiences, successes, and challenges.

A satisfaction and engagement survey was one of the efforts to learn more about the staff experience. The survey was modeled after a Society for Human Resource Management research report. They conducted a national study using the same points of satisfaction.

We want to hear from you again!

Continuing this survey is part of the strategic plan and provides a structured, predictable, and guaranteed avenue for staff to give feedback now and into the future.

We need your help! Please take the time to complete this survey using the link below, and share your experiences by May 31. The form is anonymous.

If you have any questions about the survey, reach out to Chelsea Kirksey.
