The COVID-19 pandemic has presented us all with some of the most challenging times we have ever experienced in our Sheboygan Falls learning community.
Per the Governor’s
earlier today extending the Safer at Home order until May 26:
Public and private K-12 schools shall remain closed for pupil
instruction and extracurricular activities for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year
Please see the statement from State Superintendent Carolyn Stanford Taylor:
“The closure of school buildings does not mean the end of services to children. The Department of Public Instruction remains committed to supporting schools and districts as they continue to care for their students, advance continuity of learning, provide meals for students, plan for the remainder of the year, and begin to plan for summer school opportunities and next fall due to COVID-19.”
We understand this may be difficult for our students to learn and it is not the ending of a school year any of us wanted. Our District will continue to provide counseling and emotional supports to students in need.
Our District will continue to deliver
. We will continue to make connecting with our students our highest priority. Please reach out to your child's teacher or principal if you are having issues with connecting a school-issued device to the Internet.
We will also
continue to distribute meals
on our Monday-Wednesday-Friday schedule. We appreciate families who have been wearing masks in the drive-thru lane, as this helps keep our staff safe.
Plans are being made and will be communicated to families soon about the following:
- spring events, including high school graduation
- summer school
- schedule for picking up school supplies/locker items
We appreciate your patience as we make plans that will help us keep our students safe.
We truly appreciate the outpouring of kindness and the strength we have seen in our school community. Please continue to stay safe, practice social distancing, and remain at home as much as possible. We greatly look forward to the time when it is safe to be with each other again.
