| | | Don't pay more than you need to for care! Avoid Freestanding Emergency Rooms (ERs)! | | |
Freestanding Emergency Rooms (ERs) are popping up all over Las Vegas. They are Emergency Rooms that are not attached to a hospital.
The problem is that they look like Urgent Cares and you may go there by mistake. People often get confused and go there when they don’t have an emergency. But a visit to one of these locations is the same as going to a hospital ER. When you visit them, the copay is $350 and you may have additional costs and copays.
| | | |
Some examples of Freestanding ERs include:
• Dignity Health Neighborhood Hospital locations
• Elite Medical Center
• ER at S. Las Vegas Blvd
• ER at Valley Vista
• ER at West Craig
• ER at Desert Springs
• ER at The Lakes
| | When to go to Convenience Care, Urgent Care, or the ER? | | When getting care, it's important to go to the right place! This will save you time, money, and make sure you get the care you need! Learn more about the differences between Convenience Care (Walk-in Care) at your Culinary Health Centers, Urgent Care, and Hospital ERs. | | | | |
Convenience Care
(Walk-in Care)
NO COPAY
Available at Nellis and Durango.
Get walk-in care for MINOR
illnesses, injuries, and more
such as:
| | | | | |
- Broken bones not going through skin
| | |
|
Urgent Care
$50 Copay
For health problems that need
to be treated right away but
are NOT a danger to your life.
| | | |
Hospital ER and
Freestanding ER
$350 Copay
A hospital Emergency Room (ER) is for life-threatening
health emergencies.
| |
- Major cuts or cuts that need surgery
- Coughing up or throwing up blood
- A broken bone that goes through the skin
| | Important Update about Dental Services at the Culinary Health Centers | |
|
Starting October 1, 2025, Adults MUST be a Culinary Health Center Primary Care patient to use the Dental services at the Culinary Health Centers. |
|
| | | |
What does this mean?
Before you can make an appointment for dental services, you MUST have been seen by a Primary Care provider at the Culinary Health Centers within the past 18 months. This change allows us to make sure your medical and dental providers work hand-in-hand to keep you healthy.
This includes any Primary Care or Convenience Care (Walk-in Care) provider.

This past July, our team hosted the Back-to-School Fair at Culinary Health Center - Craig. Families picked up free backpacks full of school supplies, visited a variety of vendor tables, and enjoyed fun activities like face painting, balloon animals, and big smiles at our photo booth. Families also received important health services, including vaccines and vision screenings.
One of the day’s highlights was the debut of our brand-new Culinary Health Center mascot, who brought plenty of smiles! Thank you to everyone who stopped by and congratulations to all our raffle winners. Hope to see you next year!
