Although summer doesn’t officially arrive for a few more weeks, Memorial Day marks the unofficial start to the season. While many people will be slowing down this summer, your VCNP leaders will continue working to support NP practice in Virginia. Whether we’re meeting with legislators or planning our 50th anniversary conference (mark your calendar for March 13-16, 2024 in Williamsburg), we’re always thinking about the best way to support you! This is your professional association so let us know how we can help!

All work and no play isn’t good for anyone so I hope you’ll take time to relax and recharge this summer. Many of our regions are planning fun socials including pool parties and wine events so check with your regional officers for details – or better yet, volunteer to help plan the fun!

Earlier this month, the DEA and Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration issued the “Temporary Extension of COVID-19 Telemedicine Flexibilities for Prescription of Controlled Medications.” The temporary rule took effect on May 11 and extends the full set of telemedicine flexibilities adopted during the public health emergency through November 11, 2023.
