“Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all.” - Dale Carnegie

It’s been a little over a month since HB 971 became effective, and I’m encouraged by the number of NPs who have applied for autonomous practice licensure under the new requirements. Virginia’s NPs are continuing to speak up and out for our profession, and I’m so grateful for your efforts!

Our Government Relations Chair Valerie Wrobel (pictured above left with Lawrence Roberts, director of the Sorenson Institute for Political Leadership) continues to spread the word about NPs as we gear up for the 2025 General Assembly Session. Earlier this month, she discussed healthcare issues and nursing professional perspectives during a Virginia College Civics Leadership Program panel presented by the Karsh Institute of Democracy and the Sorensen Institute for Political Leadership at UVA.

Thanks to all of you who continue to support our legislative efforts by donating to VCNP’s PAC. When you renew your VCNP membership, please consider making a one-time or recurring donation to help support legislators who champion NP practice.
