Our thoughts and prayers are with our members and their families, friends and colleagues who have been impacted by Hurricane Helene.
As NPs, we understand that severe climate events can create and exacerbate negative impacts on a community’s social determinants of health. Residents of southwestern Virginia, western North Carolina and other states will continue to be affected in the weeks and months ahead, facing challenges with housing, health, transportation, food insecurities and much more.
Patients and healthcare providers within these communities, including many of Virginia’s free and charitable clinics, will need our long-standing support and generosity. Learn more about provider opportunities in your area, or find other ways to help through this updated list of organizations accepting or offering assistance.
