Tidewater Region members (from left) Chassitie Gomez, Monique Farrington, Olivia Newby and Moniqueia Flint provided back-to-school physicals in August. They volunteered with ForKids, one of the largest providers of homeless services for families in Virginia.

Did you know nurse practitioner was named the fastest growing occupation in a recent report by the Bureau of Labor Statistics? As our profession continues to grow, it’s essential that NPs have a voice at the table.

That’s where VCNP comes in! As the statewide professional association for all NPs licensed in Virginia, we’re here to be your voice – advocating for the profession with legislators, providing continuing education opportunities for you, and offering professional support including legal counsel as needed.

If you haven’t already renewed your membership, don’t forget to do so before September 30. If you’re planning to attend our 50th anniversary conference in March, renewing your membership now will save you money later – and provide you six more months of VCNP benefits including some new ones in the works!

We want to hear from you - Autonomous licensure impact

If you have autonomous practice licensure, we want to know how it’s impacting your practice. Have you seen any changes in insurance or billing since receiving your license? Has your hospital system changed its policies or practices to accommodate NPs with this licensure? Have you noticed job postings that specifically seek NPs with this licensure? Please share your experiences with staff.
