Legislative update

The Piedmont Region will return to King Family Vineyards for its legislative polo social on September 29.

Do you know what it takes to change Virginia’s state practice environment designation on the AANP map from restricted (red) to reduced (yellow) or FPA (green)? The answer – removal of the Joint Boards!

VCNP’s leadership has been proactive in collaborating with other state and national leaders, including AANP, to address Virginia’s political climate and restricted practice environment. We need to continue educating legislators about challenges facing Virginia’s NPs.

Many regions are hosting legislative events this fall. Take the time to attend, educate your legislators, and thank them for their past support.

  • Piedmont – Sept. 29
  • Richmond – Oct. 1
  • Northern VA – Oct. 9
  • Tidewater – Oct. 12
  • Blue Ridge – Oct. 15

Be sure to mark your calendar now, and plan to attend VCNP’s Lobby Day on January 23, 2025. Watch for details later this fall.

Want to stay updated about federal legislation impacting NPs? Sign up for AANP’s Advocacy Center.

You can also educate patients, administrators, students and healthcare advocates as you interact with them this fall. Check out Vot-ER, which is working to integrate civic engagement into healthcare.
