“Volunteers do not necessarily have the time; they just have the heart.” - Elizabeth Andrew

As I settle into my role as president, I’m grateful for the countless volunteers who have served before me as well as those who are alongside me now as we represent and support Virginia’s NPs. It’s fitting that April is National Volunteer Month, as spring is a time for new beginnings and a great time to get involved with your professional community. Whether you have an hour a week or a few hours a month, there are so many ways you can share your time and talents with VCNP or with multiple organizations in Virginia. Through my involvement with regional and state VCNP activities, I have connected with colleagues and mentors, expanded my professional network and developed friendships with NPs across the commonwealth.

The expression, “Many hands make light work”, is so true. I hope you’ll join me as we continue letting Virginians know about the amazing abilities of NPs!
