Dr. Olivia Newby, VCNP executive director Doug Easter, and incoming VCNP Government Relations chair Valerie Wrobel visited with legislators in support of HB 971 this winter.

We’re in the home stretch! This week the Senate Education and Health committee unanimously recommended HB 971 be reported to the full Senate. The legislation will likely go to the Senate floor on March 4 before the 2024 General Assembly Session concludes on March 9.

We couldn’t have done this without you! You called your legislators and sent more than 900 Muster messages. You traveled to Richmond for legislative meetings and to show your support during committee hearings. And some of you testified in support of the legislation.

This is the power of VCNP! Thank you to everyone – both in the spotlight and behind the scenes - who has gotten us this far! And special thanks to our bill patron, Delegate Kathy Tran, for her support of NPs. We’re almost there!
