NPs are continuing to make their mark in Virginia and across the nation! Whether you’re teaching and mentoring future NPs, finding innovative ways to bring care to your communities or advocating with legislators, I’m so proud to represent Virginia’s NPs as your VCNP president.

Next month is National Volunteer Month, and we want to highlight our amazing NP volunteers. If you volunteer through work, in your community or with VCNP, we want to hear from you! Please send your name, credentials, a photo and 1-2 sentences about your volunteer work or why you volunteer to staff.

Thanks to our amazing VCNP volunteers who have donated many hours to plan an incredible line up of conference speakers and programs. I hope to see you in Roanoke next week!

Making our mark
Southwest Region president Carole Everhart met with Congressman Morgan Griffith last month. Their meeting, which included a discussion about obstacles facing rural patients and practitioners, was featured in the Carroll News.
Tidewater Region member Amanda Hudgins was featured in a WTKR story about a new mobile health clinic in Southampton County.
Lynchburg Region member Amy Johnson was featured in a Virginia Tech story about her work focusing on farm injuries and farm safety.
VCNP past president Diane Walker has been advocating for legislative change since her early days as a nursing student. Now she’s making it easier for future students to do the same.
Conference update - Reservations are still open!
Conference starts next week with speakers and programs focused on mental health, pediatrics, women’s health and acute care as well as generalist and professionalism tracks. Make your reservations now to build your professional network, catch up with colleagues and enjoy all the host region has to offer.
