NSF Virtual Grants Conference |

Registration opens on Wednesday, May 11
Join the National Science Foundation for the Spring 2022 NSF Virtual Grants Conference, to be held during the week of June 6-10, 2022. Just like the in-person grants conferences, the NSF Virtual Grants Conference is a must, especially for new faculty, researchers and administrators.
Highlights include:
- New programs and initiatives
- NSF Directorate sessions
- Future directions and strategies for national science policy
- Proposal preparation and the merit review process
- Award management topics
The conference is designed to give new faculty, researchers, and administrators key insights into a wide range of current issues at NSF. NSF program officers will provide up-to-date information about specific funding opportunities and answer attendee questions. The American-Made Challenges program is accelerating opportunities in clean energy for innovators and entrepreneurs, diversity and inclusion, jobs and training, and problem solving across technologies and research areas.

The Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) is seeking to expand their pool of reviewers with experience, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in energy research as well as energy justice expertise. When registering, or updating your registration, please be sure to indicate your DEI expertise under the “Functional Area(s) of Expertise” section.
EERE’s mission is to drive the research, development, demonstration, and deployment of innovative technologies, systems, and practices that will (1) help transition Americans to a 100% clean energy economy no later than 2050 and (2) ensure the clean energy economy benefits all Americans.
By participating as a reviewer, you can both help ensure equity in energy innovation while at the same time expand your network and gain insights into agency specific R&D priorities.

PhD and PostDoc Researchers FDL Opportunity |

The Frontier Development Lab (FDL), in partnership with the US Department of Energy, is excited to announce a paid 8-week summer program for PhD and PostDoc level researchers. Application closes Tuesday April 19th.
FDL is an applied artificial intelligence research program that tackles knowledge gaps in space and Earth science by pairing machine learning experts with subject domain experts. Through the DOE partnership, research teams will tackle critical challenges related to energy futures, climate adaptation and disaster response.
During the 8-week research program sprint, teams are supported by compute, data and advisory from our private sector partners. The research output of the 2021 cohort can be reviewed here.
