Parenting Moments

March 2023
Welcome to the month of March! In mid-February we were excited by the mild winter temperatures in southeast Michigan when we experienced the worst ice storm in 50 years resulting in over 600,000 customers without power. The storm resulted in many families being without heat or lights for several days. The experience made me wonder about families with young babies, parents needing emergency childcare, and the challenges that families face in providing basic needs when they are without power. Please see the articles and Power Point regarding putting an emergency plan in place for bad weather. Also don’t forget to check on family and friends who may need food resources after the outage. As always, remember to check out at least one of the fun family activities!
