ProjectWHAT! 20th Anniversary

Two Decades of Amplifying the Voices of Children of Incarcerated Parents

On March 14th, 2026, ProjectWHAT! celebrates 20 years of youth-led advocacy, leadership development, and policy change, hosted at our newly activated 7,000 sq. ft. San Francisco headquarters at 986 Mission Street.

ProjectWHAT!'s legacy is rooted in the creation of the Children of Incarcerated Parents (CIP): Bill of Rights. Originally drafted by youth in San Francisco, this framework has transformed from a local grassroots initiative into an international standard for justice.

SUBSCRIBE to this newsletter and follow ProjectWHAT! to RSVP

ProjectWHAT!

As we look toward this celebration, we reaffirm that the CIP Bill of Rights belongs to every child—including children of immigrant parents who face similar challenges. Whether navigating the carceral system or the complexities of immigration, these youth deserve to have their voices centered and their humanity recognized.
