Product Design Incubator

PDI students will design, prototype, and pitch a new product! |
NOVA's Fab Lab is assembling the next cohort for their Product Design Incubator (PDI) and looking for creative NOVA students to apply! Through PDI, students will learn design thinking, develop entrepreneurial skills, then prototype and build an original product at the Fab Lab. Those who complete the program will receive a $3,000 stipend!
PDI Participants Will:
- Attend an orientation session on March 13, 2025 (3pm).
- Attend ideation workshops March 27 to May 1, 2025, on Thursdays (3-5pm).
- In Summer 2025, attend the Product Design Incubator from May 19 to June 13 on weekdays (9:30am-3:30pm).
- Develop a professional CV or portfolio integrating the materials you developed during the incubator.

Compu Dynamics Raises $45K to Strengthen Local Tech Talent | The data center construction company’s fifth annual golf tournament raised record funds for NOVA’s IET programs |
Compu Dynamics, a leading provider of data center construction and operations solutions, has announced that its fifth annual fundraising golf tournament raised a record $45,000 for the Information and Engineering Technologies (IET) programs at Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA).
This year’s event has further demonstrated the company’s dedication to supporting education and fostering talent in the data center industry. Over the past five years, Compu Dynamics’ annual golf tournament has raised and donated more than $150,000 to support NOVA’s IET programs. The 2024 event saw participation from more than 30 companies, with 150 individuals coming together to support this important mission.
Steve Altizer, president and CEO of Compu Dynamics, expressed his appreciation for the event’s success. “We are thrilled with the overwhelming support from our partners and participants in this year’s golf tournament. The “IET Cyber Weekly Nuggets” is a weekly hands-on cybersecurity training program led by Professor Kwabena “KK” Konadu through NOVA IET. This program invites NOVA students eager to develop practical skills and prepare for the workforce. The mission of IET Cyber Weekly Nuggets is to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for IT and cyber careers while fostering a supportive, peer-to-peer learning environment.
Location: Woodbridge Campus (WRC room 216)
Date/time: Every Friday 9:30am to 11:30am next semester
