NOVA is kicking off an exciting new event: IET Career Days, which introduce students to in-demand technology career pathways! Career Days are FREE and will be offered at NOVA campuses, where students will learn from industry professionals and alumni about NOVA IET degree programs. Sessions on IET topics will include Information Technology, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Data Center Operations, and Cybersecurity. #InDemandCareer #HighTechHighWage

Welcome Mary Ratcliff, Fab Lab Coordinator!

Mary is an artist and educator specializing in sculpture, digital design, and community art. She earned her BFA in Sculpture with a minor in Professional Education at the University of North Florida and an MFA in Sculpture from Louisiana State University in 2021. Upon graduation she taught as adjunct faculty and soon after became the Interim Fabrication Lab Manager for the LSU College of Art and Design. Get Into a Cyberinfrastructure Career

ACCESS Operations doesn’t just keep the ACCESS program running on a day-to-day basis. They’re looking out for the cyberinfrastructure professionals of tomorrow. How? By passing on the current CI expertise to students through the Student Training and Engagement Program (STEP). 


Envisioned as a way to provide students with training on marketable skills in the areas of operations, data and networking, and cybersecurity, STEP aims to promote the development of a diverse, competitive STEM workforce by providing opportunities to students, with a focus on recruiting and enrolling students from underrepresented groups.

Register for Summer STEM Camps

Led by STEM teachers and college students enrolled in STEM programs, our STEM Camp program introduces Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math to thousands of grade-school students.


Camps are focused on hands-on, project-based learning that provides students with excellent opportunities to begin exploring STEM fields and to chart a course for future STEM education and workforce opportunities. Our STEM camp tracks for students in grades 4-12 include Coding, Robotics, Cybersecurity, Fabrication, Rocketry, and more. 


Registration is now open and will be available throughout the summer. Camps will run June 26th through August 4th. #STEMCamps2023

Summer Opportunities For HS/College Students

STEM Camp Internships

Are you experienced in STEM? We're recruiting high school and college students interested in STEM education for PAID summer STEM internships in support of our summer STEM camps. Interns will support camp instruction, contribute to curriculum development, and learn to teach technical skills in a low stress, fun environment. Summer Bridge Programs

NOVA IET offers free 2-week summer bridge programs to help high school juniors and seniors get ready for college! During these programs, students will receive an introduction to in-demand technology fields (IT/Computer Science & Engineering Technology), tour at regional employers, and meet NOVA faculty, students, and staff. Bridge students will gain critical skills and have the opportunity to receive college credit.

This program is designed for

K-12 teachers in the National Capital Region who seek to infuse science, technology, engineering, and math into their lessons and explore interdisciplinary project design. Participants in this program will receive a $1000 stipend and educational resources for their classroom.

DCO Tech

Secondary Externship

The Secondary Externship Program equips educators to build awareness for Engineering Technology (ET) and Data Center Operations (DCO) careers and the educational pathways NOVA provides to prepare students for in-demand and high wage careers. Participants in this program will receive a $500 stipend upon completion.
