Have you ever thought about the value of professional photos captured during construction?

Clients are using my construction photos in many creative ways, but most importantly they are using them to attract clients and help win projects. Here are some examples of the ways they are used:

  • Magazine covers and articles
  • To create detailed proposals with bid walkthrough photos
  • Project photos for proposals
  • Photos for a proposal cover page (these don’t have to be project photos)
  • Company Calendars
  • To show what your firm does better than your competition
  • To show the project team on site
  • Before, during, and after comparisons
  • Social media posts
  • Office wall mural

Photos in Your Toolbox

I’ve spoken with numerous project executives about the value of professional in-construction photos, and nearly all of them have expressed how much they wish they had more of these images in their toolbox. While beautiful photos of completed projects are essential for getting your foot in the door, they’re something everyone has. Incorporating high-quality, in-progress construction photos can set you apart and showcase your process, craftsmanship, and problem-solving abilities in a way that takes your portfolio to the next level.

For example, the image of 400 Summer St above shows the highway tunnel going under the structure. The tunnel could not support the full weight of the structure so it was constructed to be lifted on one side at the 6th floor after the steel was erected. Then diagonals were installed to carry a significant portion of the weight of the building and remove the load from the tunnel.

See the image of the diagonal below.

Showcase Your Work

You’ve put in the effort, attention to detail, and skill to create outstanding results—why not showcase it with photos that match the quality of your work? High-quality images can make a huge difference when it comes to getting noticed by major publications, clients, or industry leaders.

Are you capturing the images that truly represent your work at its best? Quality in-construction photos can be the deciding factor in landing your project on the cover of a magazine or in a high-profile portfolio.

If you’re ready to take your project’s visibility to the next level, feel free to reach out. I’d be happy to show you how professional photography can highlight your construction accomplishments.
