Remembering Dr. Susan Brown Zahn

With a heavy heart, the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC) announces the passing of Dr. Susan Brown Zahn, Director of Education and Training at CRCC. Dr. Zahn passed away on March 21, 2025, leaving an inspiring legacy that will undoubtedly shape the profession for generations.

Susan's dedication to advancing rehabilitation counseling through education, training, and advocacy was a driving force of inspiration for all who worked with her. In her role with CRCC, she made significant contributions to the field, touching the lives of educators, students, practitioners, and the public and strengthening the foundation upon which our profession stands.

Susan played an instrumental role in shaping CRCC eUNIVERSITY’s vision and success. With 10 years of dedicated service, she provided invaluable leadership and insight that contributed significantly to our organization's growth. She was also integral in revitalizing both the Certified Vocational Evaluator (CVE) credential and the creation of the Certified Rehabilitation Leader (CRL) credential. Her contributions have had a lasting impact, and her legacy will continue to inspire us as we move forward.

During this difficult time, our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with Susan’s family, friends, and colleagues. We will honor her memory by upholding the values and commitment to excellence she passionately championed.
