As 2020 comes to a close, please join us in gratitude for Barbara's five years of service to Girls Inc. of Greater Santa Barbara.

Earlier this month, she announced her departure from the organization and CEO position, effective at year-end. Thank you Barbara for your passion and dedication to girls in our community!

The board of directors will launch a leadership search in 2021.

Keeping youth active and moving during the pandemic has been a challenge for many families and could have long-term implications on youth health. Check out our gymnastics class options for girls and boys and commit to making movement a part of your new year. Our Winter-Spring 2021 class schedule is now available.

BOLD: EXPRESS YOURSELF JANUARY VIRTUAL CLASSES ENROLLING NOW
Express Yourself - our new virtual program series - explores female artists of different generations from around the world, from Frida Kahlo to Karla Camacho. The next class series begins on January 5th and is led on Zoom by Rosalinda Ruiz, Girls Inc.'s Remote and Virtual Program Coordinator and in-house artist. Ages 6-14.

ADVOCACY
Trauma and toxic stress are complicated and look different in everyone. Sometimes we might not even realize what we’re seeing in a young person is related to trauma.
HOW TO HELP YOUTH RESPOND TO TRAUMA AND TOXIC STRESS
As experts in positive youth development, we want to help you develop an understanding of trauma and toxic stress.

As a caring adult, you can also help support young people impacted by trauma or toxic stress.

You can build skills to support the young people in your lives who may be experiencing stressors brought on by COVID-19, the burdens of racism, or any other ongoing difficulty or adversity.
