Inspiring all girls
to be strong, smart, and bold

FEBRUARY 2018
WITH YOU IN HER CORNER...SHE WILL SUCCEED.
What Matters Now
As unpredictable and terrifying as wildfires are, many of us have come to accept that they are an inevitable risk of living in our beautiful but often parched community. However, none of us could envision the risk, let alone the enormity of the risk, of the January 9th mudslide...

STRONG, SMART, AND BOLD IN ACTION

ADVOCACY IN ACTION
Join Girls Inc. in Supporting the Dream Act
Time is running out as the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) expiration deadline set for March 5th is quickly approaching and approximately 800,000 immigrant young people are depending on a permanent solution to continue their lives in the United States.

Immigrants are fundamental to our economy, workforce, culture, schools, and communities. They are cherished members of our Girls Inc. communities. Voters across the political spectrum want the Dream Act; 76% of voters support a solution to keep Dreamers in the U.S.

Immigrant young people need our support. Let’s demand action now.

This Month...Women and Girls in Sports
Girls Inc. honors women and girls in sports. W e recognize the gains made for women and for girls, and continue to fight for their rights to play, compete, and to be safe.

Ending discrimination and abuse in athletics is something we can all root for.
