Inspiring all girls
to be strong, smart, and bold

NOVEMBER 2018
WITH YOU IN HER CORNER...SHE WILL SUCCEED.
7 in 10 girls experience sexual harassment before they leave high school.

Together we can build a culture that no longer tolerates sexual harassment in any form.

Sign the pledge and help us get to 5,000 signatures against sexual harassment and violence by Nov. 30th.

STRONG, SMART, AND BOLD IN ACTION
Teens Explore STEM
Local SHEroes from Lockheed Martin offered our teens weekly mini-workshops on infrared cameras, and invited female engineers to talk to the young women about their career paths. The Santa Barbara Library also welcomed the 7th graders for a computer mini-workshop called "Tech Tuesday." This STEM hands-on-minds-on programming was a blast for our SMART teens!
She Votes
Girls in 3rd-6th grade helped get out the vote, encouraging parents and the community to pledge to vote on election day. As part of the She Votes curriculum, girls ran their own mock elections at each center, met women from the Santa Barbara Women's Political Committee, and learned about the history of women's voting rights and how women today are under-represented at all levels of elected office.
