Inspiring all girls
to be strong, smart, and bold
NOVEMBER 2020
WITH YOU IN HER CORNER...SHE WILL SUCCEED
WE ARE GRATEFUL FOR YOU!
This month we celebrate #GirlsIncGratitude by showing our appreciation to our supporters who share in our belief that all girls deserve to grow up healthy, educated, and independent. We are grateful for your continued support throughout 2020 to help us keep our programs running for girls during the pandemic.
STRONG, SMART, AND BOLD IN ACTION
ROSA RUIZ NAMED REMOTE AND VIRTUAL PROGRAM COORDINATOR
Congratulations to Rosa for stepping into our new, full-time position to develop, implement, and manage non center-based alternative programming for girls in grades TK-6.

In her new role, Rosa will help Girls Inc. expand service to girls and families for whom in-person programming is not accessible both during the pandemic and beyond. Stay tuned to watch our virtual programs grow under Rosa's leadership (see below!)
EXPRESS YOURSELF: VIRTUAL PROGRAM BEGINS IN DECEMBER
Our new virtual program series, Express Yourself, kicks off in December featuring different female artists from around the globe. Girls will explore a range of materials and mediums like ink, tempera, watercolors and colored pencils while developing an art-specific vocabulary. A new series of virtual classes will be offered each month. Registration is open now. Space is limited.
GET INVOLVED
YOU CAN STILL INVEST IN GIRLS THIS YEAR
As a friend of Girls Inc. you know that we invest in the girls. Be it in-person or virtual, we meet them where they are. Please help us meet the challenge of safely supporting the girls and teens in our community: they need our educational support as well as our strong, smart, and bold programming. Your generous gift before year-end is needed, and will be greatly appreciated.
PLAN IRA CHARITABLE ROLLOVER FOR 2020
Do you have a traditional IRA account? If you are 70 1/2 or older in 2020 you may make a tax-free contribution of up to $100,000 from your IRA directly to a public charity such as Girls Inc. of Greater Santa Barbara.

GIRLS CELEBRATE THE FIRST FEMALE VICE PRESIDENT-ELECT
Congratulations to Kamala Harris, Vice President-Elect of the United States! Our girls are excited to witness a woman of color in one of the most visible leadership roles in our country. We celebrate the monumental FIRSTs for girls and women as Harris becomes the FIRST woman, FIRST Black woman, and FIRST Asian American to be elected as Vice President.
