Our 2022 Wish Book is here!

This holiday season, we invite you to grant wishes for our strong, smart, and bold girls and staff at Girls Inc. of Greater Santa Barbara. We compiled a catalogue of wishes directly from our staff to improve our programs, facilities, and future plans.

The evolving programs, experiences, and pro-girl community we provide for girls across Santa Barbara is not possible without friends like you.

Be sure to check your mailbox for our new Wish Book.

GIRLS INC. PROGRAM UPDATES

GYM WILL MOVE OUT OF SANTA BARBARA CENTER:

After our downtown site sold earlier this year, we will be moving all programming out to our Goleta location for 2023.

The last class for our fall recreational gymnastics season was 11/18/22. The competitive team will have their last day on 12/02/22 after the season ends. Our programming will resume on 1/9/23, at our Goleta location only.

We appreciate the support from all our families and look forward to making new memories with you in 2023.

SENATOR MONIQUE LIMON VISITS OUR TEENS:

Girls Inc. of Carpinteria joined teens from our After School Program and the Teen Mentorship program as we hosted California State Senator Monique Limón.

Senator Limón shared about her own experiences growing up as a Latina in the community. She inspired our youth to go after their dreams, no matter the obstacles.

OUR YOUTH PRACTICED THEIR RIGHT TO VOTE:

In preparation for the Midterm elections, we ramped up our SheVotes curriculum which teaches youth the importance of getting involved civically.

We held mock voting polls where our TK-6 youth practiced exercising their vote by voting for a special Halloween snack time treat. Popsicles won!

DONOR SPOTLIGHT

We feel passionate that we wouldn't be able to do our work without the support of our local partnerships with companies like Women at Amazon Santa Barbara.

"We live and work in this beautiful corner of the world and understand we can make meaningful impact for local organizations like Girls Inc., whose mission aligns so closely to our own," said Community Lead, Isabella Ramos.

Women at Amazon Santa Barbara has participated in She.is.beautiful for the past two years and also drove a fundraiser in support of our Teen Mentorship Program, specifically providing teen mentees stipends for their micro-internships.

"All-in-all, we hope that our efforts continue to support Girls Inc. on its mission to inspire all girls to be strong, smart, and bold," said Ramos.
