COLLABORATIVE EFFORTS HELP SERVE GIRLS

We believe all girls deserve to learn in a safe environment to help ensure their academic progress isn’t disrupted during the pandemic.

More than 25 girls have recently started coming to Girls Inc. for remote and virtual learning support, thanks to a grant from United Way of Santa Barbara County. Girls Inc. is a partner in the Learning and Enrichment Centers Collaborative, a countywide learning, enrichment, and child-care initiative. The group's focus is on underserved communities including homeless and foster youth, students who qualify for free and reduced meals, and children of essential workers.

SHE VOTES

We know that girls are born leaders, but they need support and experiences to help them make the most of their potential.

She Votes is an educational, nonpartisan Girls Inc. initiative that supports girls of all ages to gain the skills and confidence to be future voters, candidates, and political leaders.

Through She Votes, girls see the many ways leadership can be expressed through civic engagement, from learning how legislators make decisions at all levels of government to how those decisions impact girls’ lives. Follow She Votes activities this month on social media.

KEEPING YOUTH SAFE WITH NEW PROTOCOLS
"A lot has changed. And those four words don’t seem to encompass the enormity of how everybody’s life is different compared to seven months ago. We hope that Girls Inc. is providing some normalcy to our youth’s lives. We are providing support in the best way we know how to our community, and keeping up with the changing guidelines to provide the safest environment for our youth.

ART INSPIRES HOPE, POSITIVITY FOR TEENS
Our teens are sharing what is on their minds by creating sidewalk art to promote kindness, positivity, and hope in our community. Thank you to the youth for using art as a healthy outlet for expression and unity, and for continuing to inspire us!
THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING GIRLS
CELEBRATION VIRTUAL EVENT: GIRLS TAKE THE LEAD
Your support and participation in the 2020 Celebration Virtual Event helped raise more than $130,000 to support programs and remote learning support for girls and teens during the pandemic.

A special thank you to our sponsors and our many community partners who helped make our first virtual event a success for the girls we serve.
