In His Presence!!! 10/13/21

GOOD MORNING, GOOD AFTERNOON, GOOD EVENING!
It is sunny and cool here in McDonough, Ga, as I begin today's sermon.
Life is good-The Braves and GA. Bulldogs both won yesterday and today is the first time I have had to cut on the HEAT!!!
“IN THY PRESENCE IS FULNESS OF JOY!”

I had the JOY of attending my first Major League Divisional Playoff game at the brand new Truist Park last Tuesday night. Although this is the second year of the Braves playing there, I had not let been, let alone I had never been to a playoff game in any major league sport.
I felt much like a 12 year old kid when I learned early Tuesday morning that I, yes I, was REALLY going!!!
It took an hour and one half to drive the 30 plus miles to the stadium and parking was a nightmare. We had to walk over a half mile to reach our seats and finally settled in as the first hald inning was ending.
The seats were fantastic, third base side, 11 rows up field level, halfway between the visitor dugout and left fielder.
THE PLACE WAS ELECTRIFIED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tens of thousands of exited fans, incredible lighting and entertainment between innings, EXPENSIVE food and drink and I mean EXPENSIVE-don't ask.
The Braves DID win and moved on the the league championship and I made sure we stayed tilled the final out.
It was UTOPIA!!! Heaven on earth!!
Nothing else mattered but the next pitch and that foot long hot dog!!!!
If anyone besides me cared what the politicians were doing or the traffic they had endured to get here.............................. NOT ME!!!
As we say here in Georgia..................
“I WAS IN HOG HEAVEN!!!!!”
Well, Preacher, that is wonderful for you but what has that got to do with God?? THIS is a sermon about Jesus, ain't it???????

If what I caught a taste of, a glimpse of at a MERE professional baseball game.........
What will Heaven be like???
Imagine being “in Thy Presence” for eternity!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Human beings have to artificially manufacturer joy and excitement!!!
The loud organ music, the lights and huge TV screens, the in between innings entertainment, the fancy restaurants, the thrill of the sport, the HOPE of victory for the home team-ALL MANUFACTURED/ALL MAN CREATED!!!!
All created by man to create a “Heaven on earth” experience that erases our earthly misery...................but an experience that does not last or linger after the game is over!
When the play ends and the entertainment ceases, life returns to normal as one navigates the highways home-REALITY sets in as another long day awaits and the problems we had forgotten for a few hours return.
Sadly, in too many Churches, we have adapted our services to be like the world.
Who is preaching this Sunday?? Who is singing?? Does your Church have an entertaining youth department?? Do you have a sports complex on campus?
NOT is God present there!! Is the PRESENCE OF GOD in your Church??????

The TRUTH, beloved, is IF we really want JOY we NEED “THE PRESENCE OF GOD!!”
Not smoke and mirrors, not expensive seats and great parking.
WE MUST HAVE THE PRESENCE OF GOD-FIRST AND FOREMOST!!!!
It really does not matter who is preaching or singing but is God present!!!!!
ONLY “The JOY of the Lord is your strength!!!!”

10 Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.
Today, beloved, we need more God and less entertainment in God's House!!
WE NEED THE PRESENCE OF THE LORD!!!!

FOR THE THINGS HE'S BROUGHT US THROUGH!!!
