Dear In-Home Respite Families,


We hope everyone is doing well. Please remember that Community Living, Inc.’s In-Home Respite is for you to get a break. Please give yourself a break, you deserve it! Please contact us for guidance on how to find providers as we know finding providers can be difficult. If you have not used our service in a while, please reach out, we want to hear from you and support you.


Reminders: All our newest forms can be downloaded and printed from https://www.communitylivingmo.org/our-services/in-home-respite/. Only the newest forms will be accepted. Please make sure we have updated and current banking information. This way we have no delays in reimbursing you. If a payment is returned to Community Living due to a closed account, a fee equal to the amount the bank charges will be assessed against your next payment. If you have any questions, please reach out to the In-Home Respite Department at (636) 614-1338 or wtappmeyer@communitylivingmo.org.


Updates: Please send all reimbursement/service care reports to ihr@communitylivingmo.org. Remember all dates of service are due within 30 days from the date of service.

IMPORTANT: Please let us know of any significant changes that have happened. For example, any changes to your contact information. Your loved one is now receiving support coordination through DDRB or DMH. Any significant changes to the needs of your loved one.

Examples of how to use In-Home Respite:

  • You may have your loved one stay outside the home while you relax at home.
  • Have a date night.
  • You may take a long weekend and have someone stay with your loved one.
  • Have someone tutor your loved one while you get a break.
  • You may go to your doctors’ appointments or grocery store by yourself, and someone supports your loved one during that time.
  • Use it to support yourself while recovering from surgery or illness.
  • Go on a vacation with or without your loved one. You may bring your provider with you to support your loved one on vacation.
  • Take a nap or just put your feet up and relax.
  • Get back to or continue a hobby.
  • Go to the gym.
  • Catch up on all those streaming shows you’ve missed.


Just remember it cannot be used while both parents/guardians are at work, working.
