It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our longtime friend and colleague, Daniel Joseph Higgins, who passed away on July 10, 2026.
For nearly four decades, Dan served as FPMA's beloved photographer, capturing the people, moments, and memories that have defined our association. Since 1989, his familiar presence at Sunshine EXPOs, Annual Conferences, and countless FPMA events became a cherished part of the FPMA experience. Whether gathering members for a group photo, documenting milestone moments, or sharing a smile behind the camera, Dan's warmth and professionalism left a lasting impression on generations of members.
Dan's dedication to FPMA was remarkable. For 37 years, he faithfully documented our industry and our community, helping preserve the history of our association one photograph at a time. His passion for his craft and genuine affection for the people he served were evident in everything he did.
A graduate of The American School in Switzerland, Dan studied at Boston University and The New School for Social Research before earning his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the San Francisco Art Institute. Throughout his distinguished career, he worked with numerous respected organizations and brands, including American Express, General Electric, Liberty Travel, Rosen Hotels, Universal Orlando Resort, Hard Rock International, and many others.
Most importantly to us, Dan was a friend to FPMA. He was always ready to help, quick with a kind word or funny joke and committed to making every event special.
We extend our heartfelt condolences and prayers to Dan's family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
FPMA will share obituary and service information with the membership as it becomes available.
Rest in peace, Dan.
Thank you for 37 years of dedication, friendship, and memories that will last a lifetime.
Sincerely,
FPMA Staff
