As the nation marks the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th amendment granting women the right to vote, Rutgers will be hosting a series of events across the university to celebrate the contributions of women throughout history and their role in shaping the political system, including on March 11th at the Eagleton Institute of Politics, which will host a talk with Senator Barbara Mikulski, the first Democratic woman elected to the U.S. Senate who was the longest serving woman in both the Senate and in Congress.
