It is with a deep sorrow that the community of

St. Sarkis Armenian Apostolic Church

announces the passing of

Alice Atanosian
Age 98, passed away on January 18, 2024

On this sad occasion, the Pastor, Board of Trustees, and all the auxiliary bodies of St. Sarkis Church, extend their heartfelt sympathy to Alice's family members.

FAMILY MEMBERS

As a loving stay at home Mom, Alice took great care of her three children (Christine, Russel, and Tony) and our dear Father, Mgrdich. Alice was wonderful cook, especially when it came to homemade Armenian meals. One of our favorites was pagharch, which as children we would fondly refer to as the "big volcano." My Dad loved Pehr Pehr (in English known as purslane) which grew wild in the vegetable garden and she would cook that especially for him. She was also an enthusiastic gardener and plant lover. Attaining the age of 98, we attribute her longevity to her commitment to daily exercise and she was a regular attendee of a weekly aerobic class. A strong and independent woman, she live by her philosophy of "if I can do it myself, I will". She is survived by her aforementioned three children, two grandchildren (Marcus and Ashley), and a great grandson (Thomas) all of whom loved her dearly. Alice will be dearly missed, but the family is comforted believing that she is now with God.

SERVICE ARRANGEMENTS

A private family funeral service took place at St. Sarkis Armenian Apostolic Church with a burial service at Woodmere Cemetery.
