It is with deep sorrow that the community of

St. Sarkis Armenian Apostolic Church

announces the passing of

NARSES GEDIGIAN

Age 91, who passed away on March 11, 2026

On this sad occasion, the Pastor, Board of Trustees, and all the auxiliary bodies of St. Sarkis Church extend their heartfelt sympathy to Narses’s family members.

Narses Gedigian was born into an Armenian Revolutionary Federation family in Detroit on December 6, 1934, to Garabed and Miriam Gedigian.

Narses grew up near southwest Detroit and graduated from Dearborn High School. He attended Alma College on a football scholarship for a year before returning to Detroit to help his mother run their neighborhood grocery store.

After his return to Detroit, he was eager to reconnect with his Armenian community and met his beloved wife, Elizabeth Alice Kasbarian, at an AYF dance, and was married at St. John’s Armenian Church. They were blessed with two children and three grandchildren.

Narses worked at Ford Motor Company and, as a night school student, pursued a Bachelor of Science Degree in Corporate Management with a minor in Industrial Psychology at Wayne State University. He reconnected with his youth community and joined St. Sarkis Church. Narses served as chairman of the Fellowship Club several times and as a member of the Board of Trustees, where he served as chairman every year except his very first. He was elected to the National Representative Assembly, joined the ARF, served as Chairman of the Gomideh and the Armenian Community center, and joined the ranks of the ANC of MI, where he later became the director.

He retired early from Ford Motor Company and focused his fierce advocacy and infinite love for Armenian causes. Narses was a history buff and could recall infinite historical details, along with a stunning recall of his childhood and life, much to the amusement of all who knew him. His greatest pleasure in life was his family, who loved him with all their hearts.
