St. Sarkis Armenian Apostolic Church

announces the passing of

ZAREH MARKOSIAN

Age 65, passed away on September 30, 2024

On this sad occasion, the Pastor, Board of Trustees, and all the auxiliary bodies of St. Sarkis Church, extend their heartfelt sympathy to Zareh's family members.

Zareh Markosian, born on October 19, 1958, in Aleppo, Syria, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2024, in Livonia, Michigan, with his family and loved ones by his side. He was the beloved son of Haroutiun and Sirvart Markosian and the devoted husband of Madlen Markosian.

Zareh was a dedicated scout in Syria, where he became a respected scout leader, and upon moving to Detroit, he continued his passion for soccer by playing for Homenetmen, an Armenian organization dear to his heart both in Syria and Detroit.

Zareh’s love for music was evident in his enjoyment of playing the piano and accordion, but even more so in how he lived his life. His true devotion, however, was to his faith. Grounded in a deep love for God, Zareh found his greatest joy in his unwavering commitment to his family, particularly his grandchildren, whom he adored.
